I've been having bad neck, shoulder, head ,and jaw pain for 4 weeks. Most days it's moderate but 3-4 days a week it's unbearable. This is one of those days. I went to the chiropractor Thurs for an evealuation. He won't make any adjustments untill next Thurs. because he wants to read the x-rays. I have seen several times over 10 years and I trust him. This is a brand new problem for me so I get why he wants to know whats going on first so I'm not injured further. My question is do I go to the E.R? Would it even be worth it? I don't know if they could help or not. Right now the pain is truly unbearable but I don't want to go if it would just be a med fix. I want help. Any suggestions?
Oh my gosh! Really that bad huh?? If you're talking about a trip to the er, maybe you should go. At least they can get the pain under control. Are the x-rays recent? Sometimes when my daughter gets one of those excruciating migraines, she packs her whole head with ice. I know it sounds bad but it really can help numb the pain. Especially on the neck and temples. Please don't let yourself suffer too long. It might also help keeping your neck perfectly aligned. We tend to keep our heads at an angle when doing things. If I spend too much time on the pc, I'll even use my hubby's soft neck brace. It does help! Use a roll pillow for the back of your neck and try the ice. It sounds really painful! I hope you feel better soon. Please don't wait too long. If it's that bad you should go and get some help...
Take care and let us know how you're doing.
So sorry you are in such pain !!! Is there any way you might clench your jaw or grind your teeth at night? That can cause all sorts of head, jaw pain if so.
Let us know if you are any better on saturday?
