I just received my new prescription for Sinemet 25/100. The Pharmasist is saying that they have changed the shape of the pill from oval to round? Can this be confirmed or am I recieving generic medication while paying for name brand?
I have spoken to MSD (Australia) and been told that manufacturing has been moved from Italy to the USA. That meant the pill shape changed due to different manufacturing plant. In Australia the registered numbers are different. The round pill is AUST R 171666 and the oval pill AUST R 10516 so it will be easy to determine the pill type in the bottle. I have complained to MSD as I have to take half doses and this is very difficult as the round pill does not have the indentation to break it in half. My pill cutter also has difficulty in cutting this thick pill and breaks it very unevenly.
