Need feedback. Other info I have indicates many negative side effects - from suicidal thoughts to dizziness and vomiting. Is it worth trying this medication? My numbness is bearable and I have lived with it for a year or more. Also are there other meds for diabetic neuraphathy?
I have had peripheral Neuropathy for 10 years due from diabetes. I have the burning, numb, tingling, squeezing, throbbing and feeling like my feet are frostbite etc. Most of my pain is in the feet but some in the legs and hands. I take 2 anti seizure pills, pain patch Fentanyl and breakthrough pain medicine. This combination is what works best for me. I have tried many medications in the last 10 years for my Neuropathy pain and my advice is try everything you can until you find the right one that can give you some relief. Neurontin was one of the first anti seizure pills I tried for my PN but had no luck with it. I think you should give it a try. Start off on a low dose and work your way up if it works for you. There are many other anti seizure medications to try if that doesn't work. Are you taking anything for your pain? There is not a specific medication for PN but other medications are used that can help with the Neuropathy pain. They also have ointments and creams that may help. Good luck and if you need any other help just send me a message:)
