how long does it take to start taking effect.
You should get some relief the first day. Valium is excellent for muscle spasms and is a standard for patients especially right after surgeries that can leave you with spasms for a few days. It's usually prescribed at 5mgs three times a day unless you are tolerant to benzodiazapines. If not then you should notice the spasms reducing in intensity the first day and absolutely by the second. If you aren't noticing a drop in intensity then call the prescribing doctor... Good luck and I hope those spasms subside as they are a bitch and quite painful to say the least..Dave
valium is one of the least effective for a panic attack (these only last about 15 min and the rate of onset for valium is slower than most)... anyway you should be noticing some change withing the first hour and upto the next 3 doses (so like 1 day). benzos are prescribed regularly for spasms and pain but its hard to say how your body specificly will react to valium (this med has 2 major metabolites and they have a good 100 hour half life so its in your system for a very long time)
