... cover it. Every dose I take is like gold to me and when push the tube to I take my dose the cream continues to expell out from the tube causing a loss of a dose! Something needs to be done with the tubing. Why can this be put in a plastic tube or prefilled syringes of the dose, so as NOT to waste this!!! Who can I contact about this issue?
Hello tmomo2 and welcome to DC. It certainly IS frustrating when you feel you are not getting ALL that you are paying for. I am exactly wear you are right now but for a different reason. I am in that darn donut hole so prescriptions are nearly full retail and no budge in my budget.
There are a few things you can do. I would bring this to the IMMEDIATE attention of your prescribing doctor (in writing), your pharmacist (also in writing) so that the pharmacy has a written complaint to give to their drug rep. Also, I would write a well-thought out letter to the manufacturer spelling out, in detail, what your issues are with the applicator. You can further iterate how you believe you are not getting the benefit of the recommended dose and how "wasteful" it is to use such a defective applicator. I would address your letter to the President of that company with cc's to Director of Quality Control and also to the Director of Public Relations. I'm not exactly laying this out correctly but I hope my point is clear. They may only make the product but not the applicator. If you copy these other departments, I believe this will help you get the word out that something is wrong with the delivery of the medication or lack of it.
If you have the information data sheet for this medication, it should have the name and address where you can send consumer complaints.
I do believe your doctor has an obligation to let the sales rep know there is or are complaints coming in about this product, too. The more people you write to and also talk with the better your chances are at getting some resolution. But doing it in writing to the manufacturer and attaching copies of the letters you might send to your doctor, the FDA, your pharmacy and so on will let them know you mean business and you want resolutions on this matter and how they intend to address it. I mean... you could make this your mission, if you so choose and track it like a detective.
When I believe a wrong has been done to me and I see a clear path, I will follow it till I get answers or satisfaction. That is what I am picking up from you so I hope I haven't been presumptuous here. I do honestly feel your exasperation and have written my fair share of letters.
I honestly hope you get resolution and get this issue looked at and fixed.
