Has tramadol ever caused sleepless nights or make your skin feel likes its crawling while trying to sleep, While trying to quit taking the medication.
Yes, tis classic opioid withdrawal symptoms. Please do NOT go cold turkey off of Tramadol, there is the potential for seizures if one goes off this med without tapering down.
If would help us if you gave more info, how much were you taking, how many miligrams, and does your doc know you've decided to go off of it?
Best wishes to you,
Yes, depending on the dosage. what type of pain were you using it for? Nerve pain can cause these types of feeling also. Do you have chrontic pain? Would like to have more info as stated by my friend Sweetlemon. You could try using benadryl to help you sleep at night. 2 or 50 mg. is a good dosage & if you are haveing pain, try the tylenol PM as the tylenol will help in combination with the benadryl (the benadryl is in the tylenolPM), Hope this gives you some helpful info...
Hi, as the others have stated, these are common side effects when reducing tramadol consumption. You can also try using melatonin to help you sleep, 3 or 5mg depending on your weight. If you have been on tramadol for a long time you might find it tough getting of it. One supplement that could help you (it did with me) is L-tyrosine. It is natural and helps brain activity and makes you feel better and see things more clearly. It will take time to get in to your system so you should start it straight away if you are going to try it. I hope you don't suffer to badly while you are weaning off. We're all here for you if need any more advice or help!
You have a greater risk of seizures ON this drug than going cold turkey. My doctor said opioids rarely cause any real problems other than discomfort. Benzodiazepine withdrawal is what can cause seizure. But I've gone cold turkey off tramadol more times than I care to remember and always had trouble sleeping. Not to mention the sweating, shaking, and cravings. Horrible withdrawal.
