I have been on the Sandoz 50 fentanyl patches for the past 5 yrs and they have worked great. When I got my refill the other day, everything was different. They no longer had the resevoir design. When I first tried the patch, I was given the Mylan generic brand with the matrixdelivery system. They did not work AT ALL!! SO, I was wondering if anyone had tried the Sandoz with it's new deliver system?? How do they compare to the Duragesic brand with the matrix delivery sysem?
I am not actually answering you but am interested in knowing about the different delivery systems. I have been using the generic Mylan brand for just over two weeks. It seems ok to me, but I have nothing to compare it with. What is the difference?
I had the same problem you did with the Mylan patches about five years ago. Now I'm in the same spot you are - I just ended up with the matrix Sandoz patches rather than the reservoir ones! My pharmacy didn't give me a word of warning, and considering I've had to special-order them each month ever since that disaster with the Mylan patches, it seems like something that should have been mentioned. My pharmacist told me Sandoz has completely discontinued the reservoir version of the patches. I'm going to give these matrix Sandoz patches a try and hope for the best, but I'm really apprehensive about how they'll work. I don't even know why the Mylan ones didn't work for me - they just stopped working very quickly.
How did you do with the Sandoz matrix patches?
