If so do you have any suggestions? I am waiting for my trial. Thanks!
I believe that my disability (at age 57) was based on fibromyalgia, along with severe degenerative disk disease, migraines and arthritis. I'm not sure how many people are approved on fibro alone. It will be interesting to read if many people were approved for SS disability for fibromyalgia alone. Best of luck to you.
i just recently got approved for my disability, however, it was not for fibro. But, i do have a very good friend that is receiving disability due to fibromyalgia. To my knowledge, that is the only condition that she is receiving disability for. I will let you know if i find out anymore. Take care and good luck in your case. It took me four long years to get mine finally. I just heard yesterday that i had been approved. Thank Goodness!!! I am sure your case will not take that long. There really was no good reason for my case to have taken so long though.
Best of luck!!
I also have gone through our wonderful "disability" system. It is not fun. I would STRONGLY suggest that you get yourself a lawyer (who is EXPERIENCED) in social security. It is worth the money, and the time that you have to start all over again, when you are turned down. The system is designed to turn down as many people as they can so that they give up. I kid you not. I finally got myself a lawyer who was a former social security judge. He KNEW what to write on my petition. You may not like what that person writes, but they know what they are doing, and you do not have to pay if they turn you down. You are automatically turned down the first two times that you apply. It is the third time, when you get a hearing in front of a judge or magistrate that is the key. The idea is not to write fibro on your applications, but all the symptoms that you are getting from the fibro, such as migraine headaches, depression, pain, fatigue, poor sleep, etc.
I know, when I saw my petition, I was very upset, and told my attorney that he made me sound so bad off, but he was right. I didn't even have to go to a hearing. The magistrate granted me SSD, when he saw my petition. Good luck to you !! and gentle hugs. Ellen
