I was on 200mg of Wellbutrin for several months and noticed a STRONG change in my mood, severe agitation (not good at work!) and thoughts of harming others. My doctor is now having me try Celexa. Has anyone gone from Wellbutrin to Celexa? I also suffer from migraines and hope that Celexa will not cause more than I already have.
I want to inform you that Celexa does a a POSSIBLE side effect of headaches, so if these occur you should certainly tell your doctor. Also, I wanted to let you know that Celexa takes about 4-6 weeks before any therapeutic changes are noticed and that this medication causes dry mouth so you'll want to keep hard candy and/or gum on hand. I hope this helps and I hope you have success with your change in meds. If you don't, don't hesitate to talk to your doctor about trying a different one. Good luck.
It took me four years on numerous antidepressants to realize they caused me more harm than good. Yes, I was depressed but never suicidal until medication. I was looking for answers in a pill and that did not work for me. on July 2, 2008 I threw my 300 mg effexor, 150 mg lithium, serquil, ambien and vicodin. Withdrawal was miserable but I feel great and have never looked back. Effexor withdrawal was three months, terrible. Be careful and get multiple opinions and ask pharmacists option. Wish you the best.
Hey Valatron, I don't know about the change of med, but I can tell you that I'm on my 2nd week of Celaxa, and I also suffer from migraines. I went to see my doctor this weekend and I told him about the headaches I have been getting on celaxa. Only once has it escalated to a migraine, and thats because I let it ride, that was actually my worst night since I had started the Celaxa med. I took 2 excedrins, that afternoon, and then another 2 around 3 am when my migraine wouldn't let me sleep. After about 20 minutes I was able to finally fall asleep. My migraines have been so bad that at one point I was taking percocet. I came off the percocet as soon as I was done with the bottle, because I did not want to become dependant, so now I just take 2 excedrins at the first sign of headache, because I know mine will become stronger if I don't act. My doctor asked me to let the celaxa do its thing for a few more weeks, and if the headaches persist we'll take it from there.
Good Luck and I hope I was some kind of help.
I have been taking celexa for five years and I don't have any side effects, I also take it at bed time so I don't really know how it makes me feel but I have changed alot after I started taking celexa, I use to have road rage, I wanted to fight the world , but now I am calm and not so depressed. It did take a while for it to work but it some how changed my life. If you have amy other meds for depression take them at night righ before bed don't drive, bathe or do anything that you might think would be dangerous.also if you do get a new persription always take them at night till you know how they effect you
