I am currently being treated for ovarian remnant syndrome. My remnant formed follicles that caused a stenosis of one of my ureters. My doctor does not want to do additional surgery. He wants me to stay on the Lupron therapy until I go through natural menopause (probably 3-6 years). I am currently receiving add-back therapy (Vivelle Dot .025 mg), which has me hormonally feeling well. I am worried, however, about the possible long-term side effects of this drug. Particularly how it may be affecting my pancreas. My mother died of pancreatic cancer. Any insight anyone?
It's unfortunate no one, who has been on Lupron therapy long term, has responded.
There aren't any reviews on this website which would be helpful to you. I don't know where to direct you.
Unfortunately there is a note that Lupron can increase pancreatic islet cell adenomas in females. It's difficult to assess the risk verses benefits. Please discuss any issues you have, with your doctor.
