difficulty walking and sitting..muscles covering sacral area and down to knees on outer aspects of legs... enough pain that I use pain medication (percocet)
Has anyone experienced leg pain/discomfort... seems muscular?
Added 19 May 2011:
I did not include that I am 6 weeks post-op for spinal stenosis (laminectomy). The leg pain I had pre-op has resolved but this is what I am left with now.
I caught a fall in the winter and it sounds with a previous history of polio that I had a lot of leg discomfort, muscular from back to shoulders the pain you have sounds almost identical to the pain my 93 y/o mother has with rheumatoid Arthritis, her knee's sacral area, I bought a product at CVS it gives about 3-4 hrs relief called sto pain it comes in a spray she get to where she can hardly walk due to the pain, she does not use anything other than hydrocodone but I can tell you it's not effective
BrrMars was kinda right about the Lyrica. Only it doesnt help everyone with fibro(if thats what you have) Alot of people with Fibro take Cymbalta instead and say it works good also... personally me n some others think neither work. To each its own. Every1 is diff. If I were you id try them but ask the Dr to keep the percocet on hand just in case they dont work.
It sounds to me like either spinal stenosis or possibly a herniated disc. Fibomyalgia is more widespread pain all over in the neck and shoulders, low back and knees. Since yours is in the lower spine and lower extremities I would lean toward something more spinal in origin. It sounds to me like it is irritating in the L4-S1 area. This area innervates the buttock and outer thigh area. Have you had an MRI? If not, I would ask the Dr about obtaining one to see what is going on in that area.
