There is a massage therapy chain that I have considered going to to see if they can help with migraines. I know that my insurance will not pay for this but if I find that I think that they may help, then I may just pay the price and give it a try. In the same token, I can't afford a massage everytime I get a headache... my migraines usually start in the back of my head and if I don't catch it in time it then starts moving up the side of my head. By that time, I am in such pain that I don't think I could even stand for someone to try to give me a massage, lol! By that time, I am usually a basket case anyway!
Easter medicine such as Massage or even Acupuncture can work for many people. I'm personally a Western medicine person. I have however had massage therapy during my physical therapy for my back and it works quite well for my specific conditions. Another option that I would recommend is usually used for migraines but work for headaches as well. It's called Stadol NS (Butorphanol). It's an intranasal spray. You only spray it once. It comes in a 2.5ml bottle and contains approximately 15 sprays in each container. It works great for Migraines and more severe headaches. It's also only a schedule 3 drug so doctors are more likely to prescribe it. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon!
