I am 59 have high BP and recently had 3 stints RCA not sure what type. I am have difficulty stopping smoking anyone have any suggestions.
I am still smoking, although I did cut down a lot when I started Plavix.
No easy way unless you have a lot of will power, and I mean a lot!!
Talk to your health insurance company. Many have smoking cessation programs with counseling. You might ask your health care provider about Chantix. He/She would know if you can take it with your other meds. Good Luck! I quit smoking 25 years ago and it is tough! Your health is a good incentive to quit!
May 28 I will have been smoke free for 2 months. March 27, I had several mini strokes happening all at the same time. They asked if I wanted the patch when I left the hospital. NO. This is trading one habit for another. I am not a strong person and I have alot of stress in my life. I have been trying to quit for probly 10 yrs or better. It was hard, it is still hard. Not one hour goes by I do not think of having one. It gets easier and easier to say no not now.
Everyone knows how important it is to quit. Not everyone understands how hard it is to quit. Most important how much harder it is not to replace it for another habit.
Over the yrs I have tried all sorts of quit smoking things, even hypnosis. Nothing worked for me. Just had to quit and be stuborn about it. "NO, I DO NOT WANT TO DO IT" "PLEASE I AM REALLY WORKING HARD ON QUITTING SMOKING, AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE DOING IT." People have understood this and they try to be polite about it.
This may or may not help you. Hope it does. You need the desire to quit and be stuborn.
If you're smoking and want to quit, there is an over-the-counter herbal medicine known as Tabex that is effective. It is available on-line for less than $15.00 USD.
