I've been on victoza for anout a month now-my only problem is that I have started to develop an itchy rash at the injection sites. Any suggestions? Do topical creams work?
Absolutely! I have a reaction much like a bee sting. It swells and itches at the point of injection, leaving a small, red, lumpy area that lasts about two days. Sorry, I haven't found anything that relieves the sympton. It does seem less intense in some areas as opposed to others.
I just went to the doctor today and found out it’s an allergic reaction. I had to be put in new meds
Be sure to hold the injection pen tight against your body and maintain for about 10 seconds after injection. If you pull the needle out too fast some of the drug will get under the skin and cause irritation.
