I have tried ambien but it cant be used for long term use. Plus I did some crazy stuff while taking that. Or so I have been told. I didn't remember. I tried lunesta but my insurance wont cover it. I have tried sonata but it didn't work. I have tried silinor and it didn't either. I have tried trazadone and it makes me feel really weird like I have a lot of pressure in my head and then I am a zombie the whole next day with a massive migraine. I am a basket case and with my kids at home for home schooling and me trying to go to school as well I think my anxiety is at an all time high. Any suggestions for meds that worked from folks who feel my pain. Thank Ya
Hi hollyertley, I'm awake at 3:30am, so I know what you are talking about. Although my insomnia is caused by pain, not anxiety.
I've found the best thing for me is Xanax, YET it is to be used temporarily as well. Some people have been taking benzodiazapines (that is the drug category that xanax falls into) for twenty years, and they are fine. If you only use it at night, then I would think that a doctor may prescribe a benzo for you since anxiety is causing your insomnia.
Some doctors do NOT prescribe these meds as they are addictive, for certain people, and one cannot just stop taking them after being on a benzo for a long period of time, you need to taper off slowly, as seizures are a possibility for cold turkey withdrawal. But most of these meds work great for "shutting your brain down" to allow sleep.
Best wishes to you,
