I hope and pray that we'll all have a Thanksgiving that we can handle with pleasant people. My son has been saying that he'll cook. Usually he had dinner rolls made-and everything else. I'm thinking that I'll burn more than the turkey this year--- Gotta go and start with dinner rolls-so the rest won't be so intimidating. Knowing how holidays affect vets and all of our nerves-I really wish the best for you. Happy Thanksgiving and don't set the house on fire with a fried turkey. All of you affected by Sandy-God bless you-I've been praying--
Happy Thanksgiving everyone-Love ya'?

Very well said Meyati! I have a lot to be thankful for as I am not one of those affected by Sandy and not one of those who have been forgotten by my country in the aftermath of this tragedy. While my year has had it's ups and downs it could be a lot worse. I had surgery on my back last Friday which was not good timing as we have Thanksgiving at our house, I tried to talk my wife into having it elsewhere but she wouldn't give in. It's strange, I have many friends on here who have checked on me yet my own Sunday School class has not even sent a card nor even a phone call. That's the tragic world we now live in. God Bless you Meyati I hope this is your best Thanksgiving ever.
Hello meyati. I began cooking yesterday and just discovered I am to be a great-grandfather (Ist time!) :-0) I wish and hope that you and your family, loved ones, a super Thanks-giving. Hope you are not in too much pain and manage to enjoy some of the meal. Be well, and take care, pledge
I am so thankful for all the wonderful people here. when any of us has had a question, we all have good together to help each other. it is a wonderful things that everyone here helps 1 another to show support and to give advice, compassion, and help every one that the way. I feel like this is the extended family, people who care no matter who you are. I wish you all are blessed Thanksgiving. Seeking peace,
Half of the people never showed--and the other half brought rescue dogs-one definately aggressive. Everyone expected to tie them to trees in the front yard--we have neighbor kids running all over- and a problem with loose pit bulls. I said- bed- and my 100 lb sweeties stopped baying-and went into my room. They stayed there without a peep, no chewing things up, no scratching at the door, even when people used the bathroom, no growling. We told everybody not to open that door- and put a sign up-or the turkey and pies would disappear in a coonhounds' minute- which is faster than a NY minute- You all know the Christmas story movie where the neighbor's hounds rushed in and ate the Christmas dinner? We are the people with the hounds. A grandson stopped a fruit loop from taking pics of my face and posting them on FB-I hope none are posted.
One of my foster daughters called from Alaska to check if she had the right recipe for my giblet gravy and showered me with love--next year-only the people living in the house will be here. This is the first holiday with this type of problem--- The only outsiders allowed in the future is my daughter in Alaska-if they can come down.
Hi meyati, I'm a bit late here, tis the day after. I hope all had a good one!
I was too busy shopping online in the morning, then preparing the feast at my house later that day. I almost did burn something, the STUFFING!!
The best part, yet I must say that I'm horrified by all the carbs and sugar I ate yesterday!
Mary of the many #'s, you'd have gone into anaphalactic shock over all the corn syrup contained in some food products I injested, thought of you as I read labels on some things! Corn products are everywhere!
Happu Holidays to one and all,
Hi Meyati and everyone else, I entirely missed Thanksgiving along with 3 other days, just in horrific pain from a migraine that made me sleep 16 hours a day plus lying in bed in pain the rest of the time. But I am tremendously thankful that I don't have this kind of pain 24/7 like I used to. And I have gotten to accept my limited life instead of suffering from severe depression. Thanks to my anti-depressant and all the meds and treatments that I am able to get for my migraines. Thank God also for ObamaCare, otherwise I would have exceeded my cap on what insurance will pay and we would go bankrupt just from my medical bills. Also if I lose my health insurance, next year I cannot be denied health insurance due to my pre-existing stroke and kidney failure, etc. Thank you and thank you. I am very grateful this Thanksgiving.
