Drinking any amount of alcohol with Flagyl can result in side effects such as flushing, headache, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting, and rapid heart rate.
Flagyl is very similar to a medicine called Antabuse used to help alcoholics. These reactions to alcohol (called the disulfiram reaction) is usually enough to deter people from having another drink.
