I think I am pregnant and I need to get Seroquel XR out of my system completely. I cannot tell my health care provider. So I have stopped taking it on my own just incase it does harm to the fetus. Im in the first trimester of my pregnancy. About 2-3 weeks pregnant. I recently stopped and have not slept AT ALL, I am having heat flashes and nausea. What are some withdrawal symptoms and what are the effects that can happen to my unborn fetus?
I have been taking the medication for about over 3 years.
What will happen when I completely stop taking Seroquel XR?

Why do u have to hide this from your doc... Coming off seroquel is difficult when done abruptly... Your doc may have an alternate method of withdrawing. It may be just as harmful to the fetus to abruptly come off as it is to stay on it!. Do yourself a favor and be honest with your doc... You r not only putting yourself at risk, but your babies as well!!!
Hi Sweetie Pie, you are having detox from the Seroquel, you cannot just stop taking it, that is not healthy for the baby either for you to just stop, she will detox along with you, you can't do that to her.
Please take your dose right now with a big glass of water. The withdrawls will get worse if you don't, your mind will go "crazy" along with the physical stuff like severe dehydration. Your baby needs this medication at this moment as much as you do. There is a healthy and correct way to wean off.
Why can't you tell your health care provider? I will help you, please let me know what's going on with that. Okay? :)
I agree as well... Plus your own mental health is at risk... U must be taking thos med for a reason... I struggle with bipolar... I am also on seroquel! Coming off abruptly can put u in a manic state... Not sure y u r on this med, but yalking to doc is most important... Plus the law covers you with confidentiality, HIPPA law... Be well luv!
Thank you for making me feel a lot better. Especially sweet talking me<3, I ver nervous. Me and my boyfriend have been trying to get preganant. But it will be difficult for our parents to understand why. I have told my doctor. So all will be well now. My boyfriend also thought it was the best thing to do.
Becuase he wants this baby 100% healthyy
Talk to your doctor, but at 2-3 weeks your baby is not addicted and stopping cold turkey will not harm the baby. Many women before you who take meds have had a "surprise" pregnancy. They then stop their medications. You found out very early and that's a good thing. Please talk to your doctor about the seroquel. They may want to monitor your babys development a little closer than normal during your pregnancy. Also ask your doctor if there are ways to ease your withdrawl symptoms. Lot's of times you can do this right over the phone. Don't worry about your baby being addicted at only 2-3 weeks pregnant though.
You dont have to worry about the baby having withdrawl symptoms at 2-3 weeks pregnant. The concern for addiction and thus withdrawl for the baby is if you take seroquel in your third trimester.
Please get in with your doctor so you can find out if you are pregnant and then discuss the fact that you took Seroquel but have now stopped.
Thank you for yourt helpp. I have notified my doctor. It will be tough with my condition but I have taken all your advice

I agree. But to tell the truth, i'm only 18 and that answers everything. If I tell my doctor it will set off a whole bunch of problems. But at the same time. I do agree. I ant whats best for my baby. So telling my doctor should be the best solution. Do you know what type of risks would be given to my baby if i abruptly stop taking the medication.
If you are 18 than anything you tell the doctor cannot be told to anyone unless you sign papers saying they have permission to look at your medical records. Are you worried your parents might find out or something?
Here is what happens when you stop taking it and also what happens with baby, I'm sorry that I said she was aready addicted, I was wrong because it looks like it mostly effects baby during the last three months of pregnancy.
