My girlfriends father(75 yo) was diagnosed with cancer, took chemo and radiation & sent home to die, when he arrived home with hospice he was semi coherent and all looked like the end, that was two and a half months ago. He has since gained 30+ pounds, become talkative and basically become his old self. He shown no signs of psychosis, has not been sick, eats well and stays hydrated and at this point just shows signs of weakness from being bed-fast.
Today he was introduced to haloperidol and when we looked it up(here) and questioned it's use hospice became very agitated. So I guess the BIG question is "are we being alarmed for nothing? and why would this be prescribed in his current state of recovery?" As I said he is on hospice so has NOT seen a doctor.
