i have been suffering hair loss due SD specially the left side of the hair line. will this grow back?? And steps should i take. I am 21.
I have both hair loss (alapecia) and seborrheic dermatitis, but the hair loss came first--about 8 years ago and the dermatitis started a couple years ago. I was told that it's all due to the autoimmune system being messed up. Neither has let up, so my hair loss wasn't temporary.
I realize I didn't really answer your question. What are you using for the sb?
I don't know why I have major hair loss. Every time I run my fingers thru my hair strands fall out. Are the shampoos working for you? I was told to take Biotin but that did not help.
Try using a shampoo with 1% zinc pyrithione. Neutrogena has one called Daily Control, and is available at Amazon. It is also sold at Kroger's, if you have one in your area. Sally Beauty Supply also sells a generic one at half the cost as name brands. Nioxin hair products for dandruff, sebhorreic dermatitis, and thinning hair are another option. The coal tar products have a foul odor, in my opinion. The ones I mentioned are for treatment of the hair as well as the scalp. They help to soothe the itchy scalp, and you have to stop the itching before you can stop the hair thinning/hair loss.
