... normal? Please no rude zoloft stories
Oftentimes a doctor will augment a new antidepressant with an anti anxiety medication during the start up phase, just temporarily, to get you through the initial anxiety that is experienced by many people. Call your doctor's office and tell him/her what you are experiencing, and they will more than likely give you something to alleviate that initial anxiety. My doctor did, after I told her I was having anxiety when starting my antidepressant. They are usually good about working with patients about this problem. Good luck, and let us know how it goes. But don't worry, you will feel better. Just hang in there!
Hey Michelle Gordon,
I can say for sure that Zoloft is made to lower your anxiety Not raise it! But, I really recommend that you talk to your doctor about this because I was put on Zoloft first and it did the same thing to me that is doing to you and that made my life much worse we finally landed on a medication called Paxil and it works so much better so maybe you just don't have the right fit with Zoloft and you should change to something that might give you the benefit you're looking for but always always talk to your doctor don't ever stop any drug on your own,it has to be a doctor telling you what to do or you could get really messed up, it could be that your body is not calibrated for Zoloft and you need something that works for you and your particular type of anxiety. I have anxiety and panic attacks Zoloft did not work for me ,Paxil is the only thing that has worked for me ,you should talk to your doctor in detail
let him know everything even the embarrassing stuff and he might be able to help you have a better fit with a different medicine or a higher or lower dose of Zoloft but I started off on Zoloft but had to change to Paxil. Sometimes we feel like we can't stop something even if it's not working because we feel like we've failed. You can't think that way with an anxiety disorder it's not embarrassing you're not a failure you're a Visionary trying to get things right for you so you can help others get things right for them I really do believe that I hope everything goes well talk to you Doctor keep your hopes up your strength up keep your head up things will get better always
