... am weaned to 75mcg. New doc wants me completely off. These have been very good at controlling my pain and don't really understand why. Anyway, does anyone know of any non narcotic chronic pain med that works well and will help control withdrawal symptoms when weaning and when taking that final jump off? Thanks, sorry to be so long winded. Trkey
Trkey; Really nothing over the counter would be good enough or strong enough but it should not be a big worry it this doctor tapers you off as recommended you should not have the withdrawal from the fentanyl patch. Hope this doctor knows what they are doing and if you have problems this doctor should be able to give you something to help.Or it's time to find a doctor again that won't put you through this.Best of luck.
Trkey, Your right weird after 8 years on the patches they figure you don't need it. But a lot is not the doctors I had my pain medications cut down by my doctor because the Medical Board and D.E.A. have decided we are all taken to much pain medications and don't want any doctor prescribing more than a certain amount of medications per month which is a joke. Then the abusers go in and make it hard on everyone. So we all have to pay for it. Just an Idea you can always try a pain clinic. but make sure your Insurance well cover it. Next time your in to the doctor come right out and ask him or her now after 8 years how are we going to control my chronic pain. And what about if I have a hard time coming off these patches.Glad I am no longer working with all this bs I was a certified pharmacy technician Cpht for around 38 years and had to give it up due to crushing my leg.I wish you luck
