My next shot was due in April 14th but I did not won't to get the shot again due to my long periods I had with it I was literally bleeding for about 2 to 3 months straight and it was very irritating to my boyfriend and I. I was having sex when my periods seem to slow down a little and one day it just stopped. I stopped bleeding on 4/29/17 and now I'm experiencing breast tenderness I know I'm not pregnant because it's just too quick to start having symptoms. When will I start to have a normal period again? I wasn't using the shot for too long so I wouldn't think it would be in my system that long. Could someone help me?
If your last shot was due April 14th, then you could certainly get pregnant.
The Manufacturer advises that your fertility (& therefore regular cycle) can take up to 18 months to return, no matter how many shots you've had.
You body will have been just starting to adjust to the artificial hormone in Depo Provera, which can cause bleeding & other hormonal symptoms until you've had 2 or 3 shots. Now that you've stopped getting the shots, your body has to start readjusting, which can bring more months of bleeding & hormonal symptoms.
Pregnancy is certainly possible, but the symptoms could just be your body adjusting/confused.
Everyone is different as to how long it takes to get back to normal after Depo.
