Hi group, I have a question, I always hear that exercise lowers your blood pressure and I was wondering how immediate the effect is. If my BP is high is it smart to go for a walk to bring it down some or will that just make matters worse?
exercising for an elevated bp isn't going to bring it down immediately. It may increase it. Over time regular exercise will bring it down. Exercise done with drs recommendation and starting out gently is the best way to go. A short easy walk outdoors may relax you enough to bring it down. When I feel stressed from the situation, I walk outside alone. In this case its the break from stress not the exercise doing it.
