She has a hard time swallowing her medicine. The oxycotin 80 say OP 80 on them. And are green color?
Yes, this is the way Oxycontin tablets look. As posted above, do NOT crush them. They are made specifically to swallow whole because they are time released to last all day. They also have a crush resistant feature which makes them very difficult to crush. This is because when you crush them, it defeats the time release mechanisms and will release the whole 80mg all at once rather than releasing a little at a time and a large dose like this, all at once, could make your grandmother stop breathing and die! If she is unable to swallow pills then you need to tell the Dr so they can order something different for her. These pills HAVE to be swallowed whole! They should never have given her this medication without ascertaining if she was able to swallow pills whole!
