... says I'm too long 35 yrs on 60 mllagrams nightly and I feel great and sleep well ? Can a GP overrule my consultant I was an alcoholic but stopped drink 20 yrs ago am scared if GP stops my temazepam I might revert back to drink my consultant thinks the same and says drink is much worse
First of all, is it your GP who writes the prescriptions and is your "consultant" a medical doctor or what? If your "consultant" is NOT a medical doctor and your GP writes the scripts then, yes, the GP can override a non medical "consultant" opinion. If the "consultant" is a specialty doctor of some kind, then they need to talk to each other and collaborate on what to do.
