Have a problem sleeping anyone know what medication I should ask my doctor for to help me sleep??
I take 1 mg of Klonopin at nite to sleep. It works for about 6 hrs. It's kind of a medicated sleep, but it does knock me out. It works for more hrs of sleep for me than Ambien. Klonopin is a controlled substance so some docs may balk at prescribing it.
Hi, responses will really depend on which country you live in/which sleep medications are commonly prescribed or available... I'm in the UK and if i am going through a stressful period my doctor will prescribe Zopiclone for 2 weeks, to give me some relief and get my sleep pattern back in check. A long term medication i was prescribed for some years in the past was Amitriptyline, which was also really helpful at 50mg per night.
I'm in Canada. I like trazodone. I started at 100 mgs when I could not sleep all. Then when I was better I weaned myself off by 25 mgs per week till I no longer needed it. I still take 25 mgs if I need it.
