I've been taking Venlafaxine XR, 225 mg, for over 10 years. I have found the only generic I can tolerate is manufactured by Greenstone. My insurance has just changed and they are telling me Greenstone's venlafaxine is on backorder and we don't know how long. What should I do? FYI, Brand Necessary would cost $1015.00 for 90 days.
I have heard that Teva offers a generic for Effexor but it may be the XR. Sorry that was all I could find.
Call the local pharmacies that take your insurance and see if any if them carry the generic you want. It just might work.
Mine are made by zybus? Never heard of them before, but I've been taking them for quite a while now.
Dear Ema in Pa.
My home state most of my life was Pittsburgh, Virginia 1 yr., and for 3 years near Reading.
I sure wish I could get back on my 1 tablet daily of Venlafaxine XR 225 mg!!! This is going to be my 3rd time of insurance company changes Medicare Part D in 3 years comes January 2015!!!
I hate this new health care. Since the 2nd health care company placed me on Effexor and then 2 months later to Venlafaxine HCL 37.5 pink capsules (3 a day) this year my health is going down the drain. I really believe it's the HCL and in powder form causing coughing and wheezing or GERD with the coughing and wheezing. I never had asthma in my life..
I could leave you very good well known places to google for answers. They are the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
WOW do I ever understand that cost you said about that Brand or Formulary Cost if no one had insurance or the lowest type like most of us which is "silver" insurance! I was quoted August 2014... $999 for 30 days of 3 pink capsules a day of Venlafaxine!!! I have medicare D and extra help but the worst meds possible. This TEVA pharmaceutical company makes me sick in so many ways.
