I was recently terminated for giving a customer a glucose tablet in violation of the over-the-counter drug and alcohol policy. I have talked to perigo the makers of dex4 and they say that it is not a drug or medication, but an FDA regulated food. Does anybody know the true fact.
Please let me know if you ever found out if the FDA considers glucose tablets a medicine?
I’m going through the same thing now. Told a student he could take three of his own glucose tablets while he was low. Now the school is saying I shouldn’t have told him it was okay because it’s a medicine.
I believe it’s a dietary supplement because there’s a nutrition label on the back of the package.
BTW... I have T1D as well, so I know my stuff when it comes to treating a low. Thanks for any info
