My father is in his final days and I have been administering medication when required which is usually around three hours. He slips into sleep apnea every few minutes . The apnea is now happening much less and he seams to be sleeping undisturbed through out the night. My question is... Should I have been still administering pain relief?
It's important to have the doctor weigh-in because sometimes it takes a while for pain management, but stopping him the medication could make the entire process start over, or you may be right about wanting to wean the pain medication--- it really depends on his particular issue(s) and what type of pain medication he is taking. Best wishes!
