My son is 2 months old and im struggling with his stomach aches.i wonder if its not heartburn.can u please help me.thank you
An infant who acts like he has a stomach ache is most likely is colicky. This can be caused if the formula is not suited for him, or for any reason. There are a few things you can do. His doc can prescribe drops that are basically gaviscon liquid, his formula can be changed, you can change the type of bottles you use to be sure he isn't getting air. When my grandaughter was a baby she was colicky, and I could take her hold her with her stomach against mine for the warmth and rock her and she'd stop crying and go to sleep. My daughter couldn't get this effect because she would get all upset because the baby was crying so, and that upset the baby further.
You dont want to give any meds like this to a baby this young without directions from the baby's Dr. You need to call your little ones pediatrician for advice. As Kaismama mentioned, there are a lot of things that can cause tummy aches in these little ones. It can be gas, indigestion, allergies to formula or if you are breastfeeding, something you are eating (babies are NEVER allergic to the mothers breast milk but they CAN be allergic to something she is eating that is spilling over into breast milk ) and adjustments to the mothers diet can help. Anything that is gas producing in the mothers diet may spill over into breast milk and cause gas and upset stomach in a baby. If you are giving formula, it could be the formula-sometimes going to soy formula can help but dont do this without a Drs ok.
