Due to insurance issues, i can not visit a lot of doctors. I would like to have my body hair looked at and see if any prescriptions or birth control could help. Would an endocrinologist be my best bet?
I was going to say: female endocrinologist but I wonder about your ethnic background; some Middle Eastern women are surprisingly hairy. If not, I am concerned about your Estrogen/Androgen balance. Do you have normal periods? Are they regular or are they all over the place. Do you occasionally just miss one or two here and there?
PS. take note of kaismama as you certainly could develop PCOS (PolyCystic Ovarie Syndrome (I think thats right)); I think thats the one with high androgen levels and can result in infertility.
I genuinely wish you the very best of luck finding an answer. Steve.
PS. Some irony, the year before last I was given some medication that made virtually all my body hair fall out. I quite like it, being almost hairless. It was supposed to grow back but that didn't happen.
Do u have other symptoms? Acne, belly fat, irregular periods? My 17 yr old daughter had laser tx for dark facial/neck hair. Did not work for her but with the above symptons I took her to endocrinologist. Her insulin (not blood sugar) was very high. Her body makes high insulin levels which is call Insulin Resistance. She is on Metformin 500 mg twice a day. Lost. 40lbs, no acns, regular period & less facial hair.
Good Luck, hope you figure out your answer.
