She is right. Just enter "genital herpes" on any search engine like google or Bing and you will find pics. If you want to compare to pics of other sexually transmitted diseases then just enter "sexually transmitted diseases" Drugs.com will not allow us to attach photos or links.
The last two answers you received are correct. Make sure you get a good look at Herpes in all of it's stages.
Make sure you look at your (potential) partner's genitals before engaging in ANY type of sexual activity, including and especially oral sex, or intercourse, or manual/mutual masturbation. Anal sex is not even safe.
It has been said of Herpes that it's the "Gift That Keeps On Giving".
STAY AWAY. Do not take the word of your partner. If he/she is clean, they won't mind the minor inspection. Herpes has a dormant period, and a breakout period. It's much harder to tell if someone has Herpes when it is dormant. If you don't see any sores, then you can ask, but make sure you know the person well enough to believe them to be honest. If they have a sore on their lip, that may mean they have the less dangerous form of Herpes, but stay away from them as well.
Sorry to take the fun out of "One Night Stands". But Herpes is a serious business, and just think: If you should get it, then you will have to tell all of YOUR future partners, and that is unpleasant.
