My pharmacy was out of the brand name, so they gave me the generic. I am taking this for the first time. Do I want the brand name to start out with?
I have found no difference between the brand, Wellbutrin, and the generic, bupropion XL. If you are just starting this medication, keep in mind it will take upwards of a month to reach maximum effectiveness and you may have to have your dosage adjusted after the first few weeks.
Good luck on the new med,
I tried the generic Wellbutrin & 1 generic. Did nothing. Like taking nothing.. (I've heard that from several websites. I Chewed my fingers up, that's what happens when I miss my med. 2nd Generic I tried I had allergic reaction to. That was horrible. I have some generic's I use, just not this one.
Hi there. I hope you were okay when you switched. When I started taking the generic from CIPLA (after a month of the name brand), I didn't notice much of a difference until about a month in. During the second month, I thought I was just having really bad luck with food poisoning. I'd be sick for two days almost weekly, vomiting for eight-ish hours on the first day and recovering on the second. I just switched back. Hopefully these symptoms subside. Has anyone else experienced this?
