I had trouble with the generic Cymbalta - it gave me hives. I'm not sure where it was made? What is the best version of generic Cymbalta? I bought the brand Cymbalta from Northwest Pharmacy, but it does not work as well as the one I got from the drugstore. I'm more anxious with the one from Canada. And I can't keep paying for the brand name.
Generic medications are allowed to be a certain percentage different from the name brand version. Frequently these differences are related to the color dye(s) used or the bidding agents that keep the pill together. Many people do report issues with certain generic medications and there's no way of knowing "which generic is best" unless you know why a particular generic isn't working for you. You could try a different generic or ask your doctor to mark "name brand only" on your prescription and if you can get a letter of medical necessity for your insurance company then they may not charge the full amount, or you can contact the manufacturer directly to ask about co-pay programs or other assistance they may offer - this is a common practice for drug manufacturers. I have a $3000+ per month medication the manufacturer pays for because my doctor wrote a letter of medical necessity- all I have to do is be rechecked annually.
Cymbalta can cause many side effects and many of these don't begin until the medication is fully in your system - have you considered the possibility Cymbalta itself is just not the right medication for you because of adverse side effects? I had to stop it after 18 months use due to side effects so it's something to consider.
