If its time to start it you start it. Once you've started on the pill initially, you never alter the schedule because of bleeding or lack of it.

This is my first time taking birth control

No matter what the same rules apply do not alter the schedule. so if your spotting before you are on the sugar pills you keep taking the pills you are on. Your period has nothing to do with the pills you should take. When your done with the sugar pills you start the next pack.

And spotting is not unusual for three first few months

So I don't start a new pack

kaismama 26 Oct 2013

Not if you're not done with the one you're on. Remember, do not alter the schedule because of bleeding.
