I didn't ask for narcartics from my doctor I should have said I ask for something to help with my anxiety because the medicine I am on is not working for me. I was told that I have tried everything and he didn't have anything else to give me. I was very disappointed to hear this that there is nothing else for me.
Narcotics are not for anxiety. And being a state funded doc, anything habit forming is probably mostly off limits. If u asked your doc for narcotics for your anxiety you can prolly for get ever getting them again, he is probably thinking u have abused them, because people don't ask for narcotics for anxiety. You will have to ride out what he wants u on.
Like Kendra said, narcotics are off the table as they are either analgesics or stimulants. Benzodiazepines are probably out of the question with a State doctor as they are habit forming and abusable. As a result, they will probably go the SSRI route.
Which medications have they tried you on so far?
What have you been given for anxiety? Klonopin gave me remarkable help for my anxiety, but doctors don't want to give it to you because it is habit forming. Probably the only reason that I got it is for a jerking condition called myoclonus that was caused by a stroke. Klonopin controls the jerking. I never thought to ask for anything for my anxiety because it was mostly mild, but would suddenly get intense, but that wouldn't last. What a big difference it made. I certainly hope that you can get something to help you.
