... imagination, or is this stuff kinda-sorta "speedy" as in methamphetamine? Not complaining... just an observation
Hi raj777! I suppose you could consider it sorta "speedy". If I take it within 6 hrs of bedtime I can't get to sleep; I toss & turn, leg-twitching sets in, etc. I usually take it before, or during lunch at, work (I work nights), that way I stay alert and my legs get some exercise. When I get home I get chores done, etc., so by the time I lay down to sleep the "buzz" from the Viibryd is wearing off. Some people have had problems with Viibryd and switched to another drug. For me, it does what its supposed to do, & does it very well!
Would you mind my asking How long you have been taking Viibryd and what dose are you taking now? I just started taking it last night (a starter pack). I fell asleep fine, but woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Not only that, but felt sick as a dog and really wished I could sleep. I won't take it before bed again. I definitely think this is a morning/afternoon medication for me if I can get myself to tolerate the side effects. Ugh! Really scared to take that 2nd dose today. :/
hi... i'm Danielle and haven't been on here too much in the past year but have now been on viibryd since January 2013... it has been a tough road the past 3 months since losing the excellent insurance I had and as a result had to scale back on all of my meds in order to stretch them out... I was taking 40 mg but taking 20 mg now (the 40s split in half)... I can say for sure I feel the difference, and part of that is having less energy. I also take Adderall but scaled back on that as well, which would have been an energy safety net. I never took my meds for granted but my goodness I can not wait to be insured again because it took many years to find the right doctor and then find the right cocktail. No sooner do I get it perfect and there goes the insurance. My doctor is trying to get samples sent out to her from Forest (I think that is the manufacturer) - I wonder if could try? I didn't think we could.
Does anyone know different? I am paying close to $600 a month for meds and im going to have a nervous breakdown soon... lol... sorta... it's terrible to feel this way & I don't know why Xanax is so popular as I have it in my arsenal from my doc and while it does help to take the edge off, it puts me to sleep, and this is at the .25 dose. what happens if u want to be awake??? I guess I better hit the benzo arena for that. Now im just being chatty. In closing, 20 mg is better than 0 mg and I don't think i'd be doing even half as well as I am during what is a very hellacious time for me, without viibryd!! I wish it had a generic it would be much cheaper out of pocket but then again maybe the generic some day won't work as well.
