I need to have my gallbladder removed and general anesthesia makes me violently ill, even with anti-nausea medicines. IV sedation works great for me. Will anesthesia provider do IV sedation for this procedure?
Hi Nikkie, for a 'twilight' procedure, you will still have to have an epidural anesthetic at quite a high spinal level. You will need to discuss this with your doctor, the surgeon and anesthetist. If you turn up on the day and say "I don't want a general" they will probably send you home.
