Need help. I have GAD and panic disorder for over 10 years. Was on Effexor and Zoloft until recently

Yes i think alprazolam would help the panic attacks, when taken properly and as directed,I understand how dreadful panic attacks can be and xanax helps me,it can be a very good med for panic attacks, but best to ask your doc about it.
Also did your doc ever suggest therapy to you, meds are good and can help to a certain extent, but sometimes we need therapy to get to the root that is causing or bringing on panic attacks or the anxious feelings. Just a thought.
Best of luck to you and hope you find relief soon.
I think that the alprazolam could help. I take 30 mgs a day of Valium for menieres disease, yes 30. It does not cause me to be drowsy but I have a really strong case of the disease. At any rate my doctor prescribed Buspar for me because of panic attacks which were complicating my condition. The Buspar is not as addictive as Zanax or Valium. With that said I would agree that we need to find the root cause of the panic attacks.
Best of health to you
