I have been taking gabapentin about three months. I am still experiencing lots of numbness and pain in my feet, legs and arms. I was taking 100mg x 3 per day I am now taking 300mg x 2 per day. It don't seem to be working, I am also experiencing problems sexually.
You're just not taking enough gabapentin to work yet. It does work when you find the dose for you. I take 300 3x a day but can increase it if I have a bad day. It can go up to 3600mg a day. As far as sexual problems, they can happen, I don't remember anyone here ever complaining about it.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say bummer! I know that Gabapentin as well as my condition (let's just say a very jacked up spine) have severely adjusted my sex life with my wife. My wife gets very depressed and believes its her fault and I try to tell her it isn't. We both have gone to the Dr. to discuss the issue. As a result from trying different medications we gave up on them. I found out that Gabapentin does affect the sex drive in men, and I do believe it is the same with women too. I take 3600mg's a day and can't function at all with out my meds, so we try... but that life we use to have is gone, and we are very happy when we are able to connect with each other. I hope you figure out what to do, I hate seeing my wife cry over this issue and I'm sure you experience the same adjustment in the sex life and depressed partner. Just don't give up, cus when it happens (Goofy Faces) those moments will mean a lot. Best of luck to you!
