I heard from a friend that this doctor is being sued because he said that gabapentin can be used as a mood stabilizer. Is this true?
Dr's are sued for anything even when the patient wants to try a med for off label indication and they don't get "fixed" Gabapentin can be used as a bipolar agent but for the most part its not very good at it and your Dr will most likely tell you that its not but a patient is most likely to follow the instructions and be compliant when its something they want to take. It can be good for anxiety but it made me feel so weird I wouldn't take the 2nd dose
Gabapentin is an anti-seizure medication, but doctor's have found it to be useful in many other areas. I would ask my
pharmacist or a doctor you can trust re: medications. I have an auto-immune disease called PRURIGO NODULARIS,
and my dermatologist had me on it for some time - it made me start to lose my short term memory and also, dizzy and
falling and hurting myself. My Dermatologist has taken me off of it because of these "listed" symptoms.
Read the information about Gabapentin and its side effects below the answers you get. Talk to another doctor, and also
ask your pharmicist for information. It has many other side effects.
Good luck. Trish
