I just started taking this medication for migraine prevention. I'm going to be taking 900mg total daily. If I'm taking it for migraine prevention and not for epilepsy, do I still need to carry some kind of medic alert info about it?
Not really. If you are taking several medications, it is always a good idea to carry a list of your meds in your wallet. Don't think this requires a med alert bracelet though.
I would get your doctors opinion on this one. Gabapentin has to be withdrawn slowly so it would be important in an emergency for the medical professionals to be aware of what you are taking and why. You can get a medic alert bracelt that says "See wallet card" at just about any pharmacy. Wallmart carries them as well. In an emergency, you would not want to be given medication that could potentially cause an adverse reaction if given with Gabapentin. Just a thought... Rollerskater
