Because I had to go on Medicare, I can no longer use the Pfizer discount card for Lyrica. My prescription would be $193 per month for 400mg/day. On a fixed income can't do that. Pharmacist suggested switching to Gabapentin. I am waiting to take it because I don't know if the side effects will be worse than Lyrica (bloat, weight gain). If anyone has taken both, please help me to know the differences. I take (took) Lyrica for Radiculopathy and Thalamic Pain Syndrome. Need info from experienced people before I begin new 'script. It makes NO sense why those of us on Medicare can not use the discount card (even though I have BC/BS as a secondary). We need the discount just as much as anyone. Frustrating. Any info appreciated, as I am in serious pain. Thank you.
