I've taken Greenstone (Pfizer) brand 300 mg generic capsules for several years with little or no side effects. They recently stopped production of this product. All the other generics gave me awful side effects (confusion, tinnitus, etc.). I even tried the Greenstone Gabapentin in tablet and liquid form with the same problem, which is odd because it's the same company. Can anyone recommend a brand of generic that has fewer side effects? I realize that everyone responds differently. Has anyone tried a variety of generic Gabapentin products? Thanks.
I've had several different manufacturers and never noticed a difference. Right now I'm taking ones from invagen. I don't look to see who makes my pills when I take them. If there'd be a problem I'd look, but so far it hasn't happened. I had to just look to see what I was taking.
Well, maybe your having a reaction to the other ingredients in them. Maybe you'll have to switch to lyrica or something else.
I've been taking this for over a year and have only had sleepiness with it. I take the tablet, 600mg 3 times a day. Apotex Corp is the mfg on mine.
Hope this helps
All gabapentin made me feel like crap I couldn't function I switched to lyrica a month ago so far starting on a low dose hasn't helped much yet but the gaba was worse didn't touch the pain so far no side effects whatsoever with lyrica I'd much rather take lyrica than any gaba any day!
I take a generic of Gabapentin made by APOTEX CO. I take it - 300 mg
2x daily for an auto immune disease called PRURIGO NODULARIS.
PN attacks the blood cells of the body - I am slightly anemic - and
I get sores all over my body, and itching that is maddening! It took
me awhile to find a GOOD Dermatologist - and he put me on
Gaba. and the itching stopped immediately after the first dose. I am
using other creams along with it. I feel no side affects with Gaba.
except two - one is that it makes me sleepy at night, but that is just
fine, and two it makes me very dizzy, so I have to be very careful -
I am almost 74 years old, and have fallen quite a bit - but most of
the falls were before the Gaba. Good luck and God bless you. Trish
