Lewy body dementia. Have noticed changes in his routine and slept more ... but have only taken 2x's. And it did not help pain these past 2 nights. Thinking if no help w/pain and maybe could affect brain..not worth continuing. Thoughts?

It is still a relatively small dose (although it has twice the oral bioavailability of Gabapentin). Maybe ask your doctor about increasing the dose? At least hear what he or she may have to say before you give up on it.
Yes, I agree with the answer above. You need to consult the doctor about all of your concerns. As far as cognitive problems, I had a major stroke, and I was very impaired cognitively. Could barely think of any words. That has all passed long ago. The stroke could affect his routine big time. But the brain can recover amazingly. Wish you the best.
I have heard that Lewy Body Dementia is difficult to diagnose. I understand that it involves uncontrollable movements, and periods of loss of cognition. I researched “Symptoms- Lewy Body Dementia.” Those with LBD, have low Dopamine levels in the basal ganglia. Gabapentin enhances GABA, which is a brain chemical that is inhibitory, and I wonder if it can further inhibit Dopamine production? You might want to ask his doctor that question. I emphasize with your husband’s condition, and commend you for your loving care.
