Is gabapentin effective for fibro myalgia?

In the past I took gabapentin for fibromyalgia when my insurance wouldn't pay for Lyrica. It works, but is not approved for this use, as far as I know. That doesn't mean it can't be used, it's just not one of the drugs considered for that use. It did work for me, but not as well as the Lyrica.
Hope this helps.
