Yes, It is a gold standard for all neuropathic pain. The diagnosis doesn't carry the weight as much as the type of pain ( neuropathic) these diagnosis carry.
Now there is one drawback. The drug can become tolerant requiring ever increasing dose strengths to feel the effectiveness .
Don't be worried it's just what to possibly expect.
If you are one who keeps having increased doses you should be aware that many people notice side effects related to your mental outlook such as decision making, feeling scattered may become an issue.
It generally doesn't happen over night but gradually creeps up on you.
It may be a good idea to choose one person who you can entrust your life with to be made aware of these side effects. Ask him/her to be kind and if anything seems out-of-wack, to please sit you down and talk about his observant. This way you will be able to recognize the problem and fix it or see the doc to go back to a lower dose.
Another drug is Lyrica. Lyrica seems to be getqting mixed results. It's expensive, causes weight gain and doesn't work work many.
That is the hoh-down on GABA.
