I'm taking gabapentin for thorasic back pain.
gabapentin is the active ingredient.
Gabapentin is a drug that was developed as an anti epileptic, but is indicated for relief of nerve pain, restless leg syndrome, and in some instances fibromyalgia. I take it for nerve pain and parasthesia (intense itching that you can't get to and it moves around). I have been on it for close to two years now, and while it doesn't take all the pain away, it at least helps and calms the parasthesia down to a tolerable level. I hope my answer helped :)
I agree. I have been taking it for years now. I have undiagnosed severe neck shoulder and head pain. Gabapentin is the generic for Neurontin. It relieves some of the nerve pain in my neck and shoulders. I also take tramadol with it. NOTHING takes the bulk of my pain away.
Yep Im on it too, years and it really works for my burning sensations that I get in my hands. Just like a match is burning my fingers wrist and lower arm. Doesn't help much with my pain symptoms but the nerve burning... aaahhh! Neurontin is the active medicine.
