How long should he take before he see's any kind of improvement. He also take 2 mg of Xanax at night. He has tried numerous drugs and he also take 80 mg of fluoxetine.
I take 800mg of gabapentin 4x a day, and 1 mg Klonopin 3x. It should only take a few days to help ease the pain. In the beginning I was given 2 mg of valium as a muscle relaxer, and 400 mg of Gabapentin 3 times a day then when my the pain and muscle spasms were still uncontrolled my medications were increased slowly. Gabapentin has to be raised slowly because it makes you retain a lot of water. Also doctors like to see how you are doing on medications before they raise them higher. Medications are only something to help us bear the pain, something to help us deal with the symptoms. If he's been on the medications for more than a week, I would call you Dr and schedule another appointment. If your husband's not working then the physician may consider increasing his dosages slowly over time. Working up to Valium 2 milligrams 3 times a day, and Gabapentin he may also raise, Gabapentin is raised solely over time because it makes you retain . He may also add another muscle relaxer Tizanidine worked well for me. I don't know his symptoms but my pain I can tell you I wake up to a hot shower that I stretch out in every morning, and I do the same thing every evening. A lot of his treatment is going to depend on if he's working and if he can take the medications prescribed and they won't interfere with his job and he won't get hurt because these medications do slow you down. Good luck I hope this helps you. Don't give up hope!
